About the "Bod"
The mission
Sure you can find perfect examples nicely picked to show you how to be mindful. Simple rules to live by to find that eternal peace. One problem, that’s not life. The Dad Bod Buddhist has a mission to show the messy, crazy and imperfect road to discovering mind and mindfulness. To let you know that you are not alone in not getting it right the first time…or the second…or the third and so on. It’s a bumpy journey to try to get closer to not being controlled by thoughts and emotions. This project also aims to show who ever needs to hear it that anxiety, depression and just plain funk are part of the human experience. While the project will never replace professional help, hopefully if you need it you will be inspired to get it. We are all on this spaceship called earth together.
WHO IS THIS GUY?
The picture, that’s a monkey, and how my mind feels a good portion of the time. Me personally I’m a husband, a father, and have been serving in the military for the last 20 years of my life. Me and the family have had the honor of living overseas through out my career and have enjoyed getting to know different cultures. I’ve played around with mindfulness, meditation, and buddhism for about 23 years but never got serious with it. This project called Dad Bod Buddhist is me actually taking more serious steps and exploring the realm of the mind. To be perfectly clear, I’m not a practicing Buddhist…yet…I think.
